The Florida Panther is one of the 30 puma species and lives in South Florida. It is endangered mostly because of highway accidents, ever since 1970 the Florida Panther population has decreased by hundreds! There are no only 160 left in the wild and this animal is in the top 10 most endangered species on earth! Males are 7 feet long weighing 160 pounds and females are 6 feet long weighing 70-75 pounds at adult age. They can range from 23-27 inches in height. They can live from 10-15 years or even 17 years for such a small animal! They want to live in an area that is about 200 square miles, so it's basically like a big forest. Males will roam widely to hunt but females won't roam as widely because they want to protect their young. They eat white tailed, deer feral hog, rabbit, raccoon, armadillo and birds.
