Population Rise Of The Mountain Gorilla
Over the past few years the population of the mountain gorilla has climbed by not fifty, not seventy five but one hundred! The population has increased significantly. There are now 700 mountain gorillas in the world. The mountain gorilla is around 5.5 feet in height and weighs 200-450Ibs. Gorillas are herbivores and eat leaves, shoots, roots, vines and fruits. They usually stick in groups of 6-12 and females only have one child. Gorillas are threatened by habitat loss due to increasing human populations, poaching for the bush meat trade and diseases like Ebola They are also affected by climate changes (changes in the temperature).
